Tax Evaders

Project Date:
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 - 8:15pm to 9:15pm
Location:
Bank of America
524 S Broadway
Baltimore, MD 21201

Every year corporations steal nearly $100 Billion in public funds through the use of tax loopholes and offshore accounts. On April 10th, Luminous Intervention took part in a nationwide effort to spread awareness about these corporate tax evaders. We teamed up with activist groups and grassroots organizations all over the country to bring the Tax Evaders video game to Fells Point! Passersby were encouraged to participate in our interactive, realtime version of the Tax Evaders game, which was projected on to the wall of a local Bank of America branch.

Bank of America is one of twelve companies called out in the Tax Evaders game, and in 2010 they were able to pay $0 in taxes through the use of tax havens and offshore accounts. Not to mention their $45 Billion in bailout money! Other egregious offenders called out in the game include Wells Fargo, Facebook, BP, Exxon, Google, and GE.

Put the corporations on blast and demand that they pay their fair share! For more information or to play the game yourself, visit taxevaders.net
